By nature, Fabián always seeks creative and innovative ways to captivate people’s experiences within our natural environment and continually enrich communities. Science keeps showing us the benefits of interacting with nature, and Fabián enjoys the challenges of incorporating these encounters into our daily lives. With over 25 years in horticulture and design, Fabián focuses on utilizing biophilia, sustainability, biophilic design, and biodiversity to enhance the overall experience within the workplace, community, and urban environment.
Patterns and Place partners directly with clients for most projects, with Fabián Sanin as a lead facilitator or project leader, collaborating with internal teams through the project process. "As an urbanist, I strongly feel that cities should be seen through the lens of children. Children observe things with excitement, curiosity, and positivity and tend to be more nurturing to nature than their adult cohorts. Adapting to this way of thinking enables us to develop strategies that can protect, restore and promote nature so that we can have a cleaner and happier environment. This thinking creates green spaces in and around cities as vital areas and opportunities to engage designs and ecosystems for an enhanced experience."
